Please take note of the following business policies of Starlight Editorial.

PROOFREADING + SCOPING TURNAROUND TIME

  • I will send a confirmation email as soon as possible after receiving (and opening, to check that the file is intact) the transcript. Your turnaround time begins from the time of this confirmation email.
  • For standard turnaround, regardless of confirmation emails, turnaround time for transcripts received after 8 p.m. CST will begin at 8 a.m. the next morning.
    • (For instance, if you send a transcript on a Tuesday at 9:15 p.m. CST for standard turnaround, my countdown begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, even if I respond that the job has been received before then.)
    • This does NOT apply to expedite or rush jobs; if a specific time has been specified, that is the agreed upon time, and it will be met.

WEEKEND/HOLIDAY WORK

  • Standard proofreading turnaround for transcripts received between Friday at 12 p.m. and Sunday at 12 p.m. will be 48 to 72 hours. If you would like a strict 48-hour deadline, please note that in the email with the transcript. Standard scoping turnaround will remain unchanged.
  • Please note that at this time, there is no extra charge for weekend or holiday work. If that changes, you will be notified.

SENDING TRANSCRIPTS

  • Your time slot is only reserved when your transcript has been received, even if you have emailed me asking about my availability. Be as specific as possible about the length, ETA, and deadline of your transcript so I can make sure you are accommodated.
    • (Please note that this only applies if there is no estimated or concrete delivery time given or if the delivery time has come and gone with no transcript. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!)

BILLING AND PAYMENT

  • Jobs are invoiced on the 1st and 15th of the month (unless specifically requested). Payment is due within 15 days, and payments later than 30 days will incur a 10 percent late fee.
  • I will do my best to send reminders and follow-ups around 20 days late to help you avoid fees. If a payment is later than 30 days and incurs a fee, a new invoice will be sent with the updated amount.
  • When paying, I am searchable on all apps and websites by my email address, chelsea@starlighteditorial.com.
    • Preferred payment methods:
      • Venmo
      • Google Wallet
      • (These methods, if connected to your debit card or bank account, is instant and free for both of us!)
    • Other accepted payment methods:
      • Credit card payments via invoices
      • Bank transfers via invoices
      • Checks (mail to address included on all invoices)
  • No new jobs will be accepted from clients with outstanding invoices more than 30 days.
