Meet Your Editor & Proofreader

Hey, I’m Chelsea! Word nerd and lover of stories at your service.

I’m a fiction editor empowering self-publishing authors to craft unforgettable stories.

A box of notebooks lives in my closet. And in those notebooks live the very first stories I ever wrote through my middle school and junior high years. I can't remember far back enough to recall when I fell in love with books and stories, or when I decided I wanted to spend my life immersed in them. All I know is that passion has never faded.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in English, writing, and journalism from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. After graduating, I spent four years writing for local newspapers and magazines, discovering and sharing real-life human stories. In 2018, I decided to pursue a full-time freelance career; thus, Starlight Editorial was born

Today, I live in Mobile with my husband and our standard poodle, Rosemary. When I'm not doing my word nerd things, I play roller derby as WinceDay Addams, knit fun things for friends, read as much fantasy and romance as I can, and binge way too much TV.

Good storytelling changes lives every day. Every project I work on is a partnership to hone your story, your characters, and your voice so that your readers can't help but fall in love.

Currently booking for 2023 in romance, fantasy, contemporary fiction, and LGBTQIA+ genres.
